Qatar-headquartered Quality Group International has started an administrative office and logistics base out of Hong Kong, according to a statement issued yesterday.
Quality Impex Limited, a subsidiary of the Group, launched its operations last week at Tsim Sha, Salisbury Road, Hong Kong.
The “world-class” export centre will purchase, process, re-label and export non-food products manufactured in adjoining areas.
The facility was formally inaugurated by Shamsudheen Olakara, chairman of Quality Group, in the presence of the attendees, including local officials.
The Group has undertaken this venture to facilitate the trading of electronic products and household items which are developed, processed and manufactured across the commercial cities of Malaysia, Thailand, Philippines, Indonesia, China and export the same to the GCC countries through Hong Kong.
Products ranging from electronics, household appliances and retails are sourced from China and nearby provinces.
“The $2.2bn-turnover Quality Group operates hypermarkets, supermarkets and shopping malls, in addition to wholesale distribution, food processing and hospitality with operations in the GCC, India and the Far East,” the statement added.
