Al Faisal Without Borders (ALF) Foundation has honoured 19 volunteers of its Al Fazaa Voluntary Centre for their role in making the first educational festival, held from March 16 to 19, a success.
The ceremony was attended by ALF executive director Ali Mar’e along with a number of officials, employees, and students who won the competition.
Throughout the festival, 54 local independent schools took part in the featured events and competitions, in addition to 18 international schools, with more than 2,000 participants attending 80 workshops, and more than 1,700 students taking part in another educational programme.
Other participants at the festival included 300 team leaders and assistant team leaders, and 2,500 in various related programmes.
The winning students expressed their appreciation for ALF and thanked ALF chairman HE Sheikh Faisal bin Qassim al-Thani for the event.
HE Sheikh Faisal said that the considerable turnout of participants, including students, parents, and teachers, at the festival reflected the high awareness of the value of education within the Qatari society.
