The Ministry of Municipality and Environment’s (MME) Environmental Protection, Reserves and Wildlife Department spotted 91 environmental violations during March. It also issued 63 warnings to the violators and got 13 violators to sign pledges not to repeat their violations. The department also implemented 112 requests to refund the security deposits collected for the seasonal winter camping.
Al Shamal Municipality has installed 10 units for charging mobile phones at the parks and gardens under its jurisdiction. Each park or garden got two units, as part of the municipality’s efforts to provide the best services to the visitors of such places. The municipality’s Development and Building Permits Section issued 20 new building permits in March, in addition to five certificates of building completion, 51 advertisement licences, 21 road operations permits, and 15 excavations permits. The Cleaning Section of the municipality executed 662 online applications for draining sewage and 96 applications for fighting rodents and insects.
Al Khor Family Park at Al Khor and Al Thakhira received 51,929 visitors, excluding the children below 12 years old, during January-April this year.
