Qatar Museums, under the patronage of its chairperson, HE Sheikha Al Mayassa bint Hamad bin Khalifa al-Thani, is offering the public an opportunity to take part in a series of master classes on haute cuisine at the Museum of Islamic Art’s (MIA) award-winning IDAM restaurant.
IDAM’s executive chef Damien Leroux and his team will host a range of classes and live demonstrations for the public, where they will discuss their passion for gastronomy, share some of their latest recipes and provide visitors with a first-hand glance into IDAM’s seasonal menu themes, all infused with a twist of local influence.
Three classes will be held on three consecutive Fridays, starting tomorrow, between 2 and 5pm, headed by Leroux, head pastry chef Benoit Champeau and sous chef Pierre Marty respectively.
Chief commercial officer Phil Lawrie said, “The master classes will provide a fabulous opportunity for food lovers to experience a behind-the-scenes look at how our kitchen team creates the magic of IDAM. These masterclasses are led by some of Doha’s most talented chefs and participants will experience how to prepare some of Qatar’s most exquisite culinary offerings.”
Each session includes a three-hour master class, a booklet, apron, recipe book and an exclusive tasting experience of exquisite dishes.
Nestled at the top floor of the iconic MIA, IDAM is Michelin-starred French chef Alain Ducasse’s first restaurant in the Middle East. The restaurant offers a selection of contemporary French Mediterranean cuisine designed with an Arabic twist, with classics of local and regional cuisine, and most ingredients sourced locally in Qatar.
