Marsa Malaz Kempinski, The Pearl-Doha received 10 awards at the recent Food and Travel 2017 GCC Awards.
The accolades include Best Resort Hotel in the GCC for the second year in a row, with Marsa Malaz Kempinski competing with three other prestigious hotels.
The ceremony was held in Dubai recently, bringing a number of major industry professionals together to acknowledge the GCC’s hospitality industry. “Doha’s premier destination continues to win international praise for its palatial luxury, quality of service and culinary artistry,” according to a statement from Marsa Malaz Kempinski.
Marsa Malaz Kempinski prides itself on “not just being a culinary destination, but also an iconic landmark in Qatar”. Following this, Marsa Malaz Kempinski accepted a number of culinary and recreational awards, with Nozomi being selected as the Best Contemporary Asian Restaurant, Antica Pesa as the Best Italian Restaurant and Toro Toro as Best Americas, all within the GCC, the statement noted.
Within Qatar, Café Murano was awarded for Best Afternoon Tea as well as Best All Day Casual, while Al Sufra was selected for having the Best Middle Eastern for the second year running. Antica Pesa was awarded for Best Casual Chic within Qatar and Illusion was selected as the Best on the Town following its first anniversary.
Rounding up the awards for Marsa Malaz Kempinski within Qatar, Spa by Clarins was selected as the Best Spa.
“All the awards are significant achievements, considering the hotel as a culinary destination and that a number of awards were given within their categories two years in a row,” the statement added.
The Food & Travel Awards highlight the excellence of the region’s hotels and restaurants. The initial call for nominations was sent out in February last year, with the winners selected by a team from Food and Travel, along with expert panellists, who also incorporated public opinion by way of over 263,000 votes.
