Strong winds are expected in parts of the country during the daytime on Wednesday, the Qatar Met department has said.
The weather office has also forecast strong winds and high seas in offshore areas.
The department urged people to avoid going into the sea as warnings would be in effect until the end of the day.
Qatar has been experiencing windy and dusty conditions over the past couple of days, leading to a drop in visibility in many places. The northwesterly winds have also led to a drop in temperature around the country.
For instance, the Met department tweeted late on Tuesday evening that pleasant weather was prevailing in the country and the temperature was hovering around the early-20C levels due to fresh northwesterly winds.
On Wednesday, moderate temperature for inshore areas is expected during the day and there could be slight to blowing dust in some places at times, along with cloudy conditions. The wind (northwesterly) speed may go up to 28 knots in some of these areas before decreasing by night.
Slightly dusty conditions are also likely in offshore areas at times, with the sea level rising to about 10ft in the early hours of the day. The wind (northwesterly) speed, meanwhile, will be 18-25 knots, reaching a high of 30 knots at first before decreasing later.
A minimum temperature of 21C is likely in Ruwais and 22C in Doha. The maximum, on the other hand, will range from 25C in Ruwais to 30C in Doha.
On Tuesday, a minimum temperature of 21C was recorded in Batna, Karana and Turayna, while in Doha (airport area) it was 24C. The maximum ranged from 24C in Dukhan and Ruwais to 30C in the Doha airport area.
Providing climate information for this month, the Met department said the “Indian monsoon low starts getting established in the second half of April and influences low-level circulation in our region”. The prevailing winds during April are mostly northerly, it added.
The department also informed that the mean temperature in Doha during April is 33C, while the lowest and highest recorded temperatures for the month are 10.5C (1967) and 46C (1973), respectively.
