A Doha Criminal Court has sentenced two Nepalese men to six months in jail and subsequent deportation for stealing plastic road barriers that belonged to a construction company.
Local Arabic daily Arrayah reported yesterday that the court also acquitted six other accused persons for lack of any evidence against them.
The issue started when the two convicts colluded to steal around 1,000 plastic barriers stored by the company at an area at Al Wakrah and sold around three quarters of them to another company at the Industrial Area and the rest to a third different company.
The buyers were acquitted because they were able to prove to the court that they were completely unaware that the sold goods were stolen from others.
