There has been a marginal fall in Qatar's population, according to the latest figures released by the Ministry of Development Planning and Statistics (MDPS) compared to those at the end of February.

While Qatar population had hit an all-time high of 2,673,000 in February, the latest figures put it at 2,659,000 or 0.5% less. However, the latest figures are at least 5% more than the figures of the corresponding period last year, the MDPS said.
Usually, population shows a marginal rise between January and May. The country's population hit the 2.60mn mark for the first time ever towards the end of October last year, when it touched 2,611,000.
Last year's highest population was recorded in the month November, when the country had 2,637,000 residents.
