Intertec Group is the sole distributor of Huawei Mobiles in Qatar, senior officials from both companies announced yesterday.
“Intertec group is a leading multi divisional company with diverse business activities,” Intertec Group’s division manager Asraf N K told a press conference.
Huawei Mobiles country manager Simon Liu, channel manager Raobinxiang, service manager Dongzichao,  device retail manager Hanish Hamza, and Intertec Group’s marketing manager Midhun Joseph were also present on the occasion.
Asraf explained that Intertec Group has cut its ties with single brand mobile business and moved to multi-brand distribution strategy. “Now we are the authorised  distributors  of two major international brands- Huawei and Xiaomi in Qatar,” he added.
Liu pointed out that Intertec Group is a prestigious company in Qatar for mobile distribution. “This partnership will bring high-level product and service to the consumers. As a leading technology company, Huawei invests a significant amount of its annual sales revenue to research and development efforts, and has established 16 research centres around the world,” he said.
They include the Huawei Aesthetics Research Centre in Paris, the Max Berek Innovation Lab in Wetzler, Germany, the newest R&D centre where Huawei and Leica are jointly researching technologies to improve mobile device camera and image quality. Huawei also has more than 10 open labs in China, Europe and other locations, where it works with more than 600 partners.
Huawei Consumer Business Group is one of Huawei’s three business groups, providing a range of products including mobile phones, mobile broadband devices and home devices. Huawei’s products and services are available in more than 170 countries, used by a third of the world’s population, and ranked third in the world in mobile phone shipments in 2016.
Intertec Group, established in 1993, currently has interests in the specialised areas of trading, interior decoration, telecommunications and wholesale food distribution.
