In an important step towards the continuous technological advancements within the courts, the Qatar International Court and Dispute Resolution Centre (QICDRC) has signed an agreement with Singaporean case management solution firm CrimsonLogic.
The event was held in the presence of QICDRC chief executive officer Faisal al-Sahouti, Singapore ambassador Jai Sohan Singh and QFCA chief executives officer Yousuf al-Jaida.
The state-of-the-art Qatari court is renowned for its technological capabilities (including its e-filing and virtual court offerings) and impressive facilities. In line with constantly striving to offer users an efficient judicial process, CrimsonLogic technology will bring various benefits to three distinct groups- court users, internal staff and the judiciary.
On the project al-Sahouti said, “The QICDRC aims to offer the most modern ‘smart’ court in the world, enhancing its availability to court users across the globe, making it possible to file pleadings, receive orders and judgments and attend hearings virtually without the need for ever stepping foot inside a courtroom.”
Adopting the CrimsonLogic approach will encourage all involved parties within the courts to e-file documents that will lead to an overall faster, cost-efficient and environmentally-friendly approach to litigation.
The specially designed Case Management System (CMS) will be available for use in 2018, following implementation at the QICDRC.
The QICDRC comprises a world-class Civil and Commercial Court and Regulatory Tribunal, each of which specialises in the resolution of civil and commercial disputes and regulatory appeals, applying international best practices.
