Qatar Foundation (QF) yesterday welcomed Kuwait’s Minister of Education and Higher Education Dr Mohamed Abdulatif al-Fares, to the Education City.
Dr al-Fares was in Qatar as a guest of QF’s Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU). He was welcomed to QF headquarters by Saad Ebrahim al-Muhannadi, lifetime member of the board of directors, QF; Dr Ahmed Hasnah, president of HBKU; and Maryam al-Mannai, vice president of Student Affairs, HBKU.
Dr al-Fares’ visit follows a visit earlier this year to Kuwait by a senior QF delegation including  al-Muhannadi and Dr Hasnah, with the aim of encouraging students in Kuwait to apply to HBKU and QF’s partner universities. Dr al-Fares was given a comprehensive presentation of the full vision of Education City as a hub of academic excellence, housing a range of educational facilities, from QF schools to international partner universities and its homegrown institution, HBKU. Following the presentation, Dr al-Fares was taken to the open-air viewing platform on the eighth floor of QF headquarters where he was shown the education and research buildings of Education City, and discussed future plans at Qatar Foundation.
