The Fifth Regional Cyber Drill for Arab countries, hosted by Qatar, represented by the Ministry of Transport and Communications (MoTC), has wrapped up.
The Cyber Drill, organised by the ITU-Arab Regional Cybersecurity Center (ARCC) in collaboration with the ITU Arab Regional Office, featured several sessions tackling current cyber security issues and training sessions on cyber
security.
Worked as a platform for co-operation and discussions on current challenges in cyber security among the participating countries, the workshop also included some mock cyber attacks, where 18 teams dealt with different cyber threat scenarios based on the most common cyber attacks.
Over the five days, the workshop aimed at boosting communication capabilities, teambuilding and cyber threat response capabilities, aiming to maintain the ongoing efforts that Arab computer emergency response teams exert for combating cyber threats.
Qatar, represented by MoTC, finished among the leaders in the Cyber drill, along with Oman and Egypt.

Turkmenistan president to arrive today
President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov of Turkmenistan will arrive today in Doha on an official visit to  Qatar.
HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani and the Turkmen president will hold official talks on bilateral relations and means to bolster them at the Emiri Diwan.

Qatar-EU ties discussed

HE the State Minister for Foreign Affairs Sultan bin Saad al-Muraikhi met the Chairman of European Union’s (EU) Middle East and Gulf Working Group Roberto Storaci and the accompanying delegation.
During the meeting, they discussed Qatar-EU relations and means to promote them in addition to topics of mutual interest.
A number of the Foreign ministry’s officials attended the meeting.

Speaker meets Libyan official
HE the Speaker of the Advisory Council Mohamed bin Mubarak al-Khulaifi yesterday met the President of the Libyan State Supreme Council Dr Abdulrahman al-Sawihli and his accompanying delegation, who are on a visit to Qatar.
They discussed parliamentary relations between the two countries and means of enhancing and advancing them.
The meeting was attended by HE Advisory Council Deputy Speaker Issa bin Rabia al-Kuwari and HE Secretary-General of the Advisory Council Fahad bin Mubarak al-Khayareen.
