Strong winds and high seas are expected in offshore areas in the early hours of Tuesday, the Qatar Met department has said.

A slight dip in temperature has also been forecast for Tuesday along with a relatively cold night, with the minimum expected to drop to 13C from the 16C recorded on Monday, according to the weather report.

In offshore areas, northwesterly winds will blow at 15-25 knots before decreasing to 8-18 knots by the night. Slightly dusty conditions and some clouds are also likely in these areas, and the sea level may rise to 9ft.

The detailed forecast for inshore areas says hazy conditions are expected in the early hours of Tuesday. This will be followed by mild daytime conditions and slight dust in some places at times, while it will be relatively cold by night.

The wind speed (northwesterly) may go up to 18 knots in some inshore areas today.

A minimum temperature of 13C is likely in Wakrah and Mesaieed on Tuesday, while in Doha it will be 16C. The maximum, on the other hand, will be between 20C and 27C.

Monday, a minimum temperature of 16C was recorded in Sheehaniya, Karana and other places, and 20C in the Doha airport area. The maximum ranged from 20C to 26C.
