Asian Cricket Club (ACC) lifted the 28th CDC Cricket Tournament first division title with a dominant six-wicket victory over Hanan XII.
The title was ACC’s second since they started 12 years ago.
ACC put their opponents to bat, and initially it didn’t look like the best of decisions with Hanan openers playing confidently taking their team to 77 runs for the loss of 2 wickets in the first 6 overs.
However, they just lost the momentum after that and Hanan were wrapped up for 165 runs in the 20th over.
Both Neymath and Ansar scored 27 runs each with both their knocks punctuated by three sixes. Imran added 24 runs (2 sixes, 1 four), while Zameer scored 22.
Naveed, Tousif and Appu of ACC took two wickets each.
In reply, ACC made a stable start to their innings, scoring 44 runs for the loss of 1 wicket in the first 6 overs. ACC’s star batsman was Sarfaraz, who contributed 35 runs (3 sixes, 2 fours) while Tabish assisted with 22 runs (1 six, 1 four).
ACC comfortably chased the total in 17.2 overs for the loss 5 wickets.
Rislath of Hanan took two wickets, while teammate Ansar scalped one.
Sarfaraz’s performance with the bat earned him the Man of the Finals award.
Teammate Thousif was adjudged Best Bowler of the tournament, while Hanan’s Imran was awarded the Best All Rounder.
CRCC Warriors’ Mazhar won the Best Batsman award, while Qalco’s Ifzal was given the Best Wicketkeeper award.
Sanjiv Jain, Business Development manager of Construction Development Co. (CDC), who have been sponsoring a tournament every year since the start of the league in 1988, was chief guest at the prize distribution ceremony.
