Under the auspices of HE Sheikha Hind bint Hamad al-Thani, the 5th edition of the GCC Women’s Games, will be held in Doha from March 7 to 17, with the participation of 891 athletes and technical teams representing four Gulf countries — Bahrain, Oman, UAE and the host country, Qatar.
The female athletes will participate in 10 games: basketball, handball, table tennis, volleyball, chess, athletics, archery, fencing, taekwondo and bowling.
The opening ceremony will be held in Khalifa Tennis and Squash Complex on March 7.
Qatar Women Sport Committee (QWSC) president Lulua al-Marri revealed the details of the tournament in a press conference held at the QWSC headquarters.
The opening ceremony will be held at 7:30pm in Khalifa Tennis and Squash Complex, adding that the ceremony will be simple and classy to commensurate with the greatness of the Gulf Women Sport.
