Nama Center has announced the launch of the fourth edition of its Reyada Award for 2017.
The announcement was made during a press conference at the Nama headquarters in the presence of Maryam al-Mannai, community services department manager and acting executive director at Nama; Hamad al-Marri, community awareness department manager; and Hamad al-Saffar, head of the entrepreneurship section.
Elaborating on the award, Nama said in a press statement that the Reyada Award comes within the framework of the centre’s “pursuit to encourage and motivate young entrepreneurs to achieve further progress and success in their line of work, while providing them with a positive competitive environment that stimulates them to do their best and harness their full potential in order to achieve excellence and progress and contribute to the prosperity of the national economy and social well-being”.
The award was launched by Nama in 2011 as a national competition through which the centre seeks to honour entrepreneurs and reward them with bonuses and financial awards for their innovations and efforts to achieve excellence and success. The awards consist of two categories: Best Project Plan for economically feasible project plans that are potentially successful and viable for implementation, and Best Existing Project for successful projects that achieve steady growth rates.
Nama officials informed that the first-place winners in the Best Project Plan and Best Existing Project categories will receive the Gold Award in addition to a QR100,000 grant each, while the second-place winners will get the Silver Award and a grant of QR50,000 each.
On the occasion, al-Mannai said: “We constantly seek to offer our assistance to young Qatari entrepreneurs and provide them with what they need in terms of services and financial and logistical support, in order to pave the way for them to reach their goals.
“The Reyada Award comes in the context of motivating young Qataris and encouraging innovation in the field of entrepreneurship, in addition to promoting the spirit of competition among them, as part of the wider framework of achieving Nama Center’s strategic objectives in the field of small and micro enterprise development.”
Nama is part of the Qatar Foundation for Social Work centres.
