The annual Careers Fair helps Aspire Academy showcase the nature of the professional opportunities available in Qatar to its students. This reflects the academy’s “overarching goal of guiding and supporting its students in choosing a career path that is rewarding and fulfilling, ideally suiting their career development goals after life at Aspire Academy”, according to a press statement.
Abdul Aziz al-Jedaia, Aspire Academy’s student affairs manager and one of the organisers of the Careers Fair, said: “This is the second Careers Fair we have organised and have seen an impressive increase in interest from our students. In total, we hosted 150 students from seven schools. We are pleased to provide them with a platform where they can find out about future study and work opportunities.
“While Qatar has in the recent past become known as an excellent international sporting destination, this fair showcases another success story of Aspire Academy as an exceptional centre of learning that provides advanced educational programmes in a wide variety of subjects.”
Students taking part in the fair expressed delight at the event and the benefit it delivered in introducing them to the professional work environment.
Aspire Academy Year 12 student Mohamed Abdulwahad attended the Careers Fair and said, “This fair offers a great opportunity for Aspire students and other students from all over Qatar to come here and speak with and listen to experts about what is available for us. I am looking primarily for universities where l will be able to study and carry on playing my sport at a competitive level at the same time.”
Students also had the opportunity to speak with experts about choosing the right career path depending on their interests and which subjects would, therefore, be necessary for them to take to prepare. Students also valued the opportunity to meet representatives from participating institutions and organisations to learn about the opportunities available to them and the nature of the job market in Qatar.
Present at the fair were universities from Qatar and abroad, as well as 18 scholarship providers from overseas drawn from different industries and public sector organizations.
Aspire Academy recently organised a Careers Fair in the Aspire Dome for its senior students as well as pre-university students from other schools.
