The Head of the Court of Cassation and president of the Judicial Supreme Council Masoud Mohamed al-Amiri met the president of the Supreme Court of Mauritania Yahdedh Mohamed Youssef Sidi and his accompanying delegation yesterday. Talks dealt with mechanisms of enhancing co-operation between the two jurisdictions.
The meeting also witnessed the signing of the twinning agreement between Qatar’s Court of Cassation and its Mauritanian counterpart which regulates frameworks between the two tribunals, particularly in the field of exchange of judgments and judicial interpretations.

Qatar wins Arab Towns Award in four categories
Qatar won four categories in the 13th Arab Towns Organisation Award, which were announced on Tuesday at the headquarters of the Ministry of Municipality and Environment.
The city of Doha came joint first with Madina in project Al Hazm. Al Wakrah came second in a category on architectural heritage, jointly with Al Hasa. Al Shamal came second in another category, greening. Al Rayyan came third in a category on city beautification.

Foreign Ministry chief meets envoys
Secretary-General of the Foreign Ministry Dr Ahmed bin Hassan al-Hammadi met the ambassadors of Cyprus and China to Qatar -  Charalambos Panayides and Li Chen, respectively.
Bilateral relations and ways of enhancing them, in addition to matters of common interest were discussed during the two meetings.

Mercedes-Benz S Class 2016 model recalled
The Ministry of Economy and Commerce (MEC), in collaboration with Nasser Bin Khaled Automobiles, has announced the recall of Mercedes-Benz S Class 2016 model because headlamps may be adjusted incorrectly and the reverse camera control module may not correspond to factory specification.
The MEC said the recall campaign comes within the framework of its ongoing efforts to protect consumers and ensure that car dealers follow up on vehicle defects and repairs.
The MEC will co-ordinate with the dealer to follow up on the maintenance and repair works and communicate with customers to ensure that the necessary repairs are carried out.

Qatar to host regional cybersecurity drill
Qatar, represented by the Ministry of Transport and Communications, is hosting the fifth regional Cyber Drill for Arab countries, organised by the ITU-Arab Regional Cybersecurity Centre (ARCC) in collaboration with the ITU Arab Regional Office, at the Four Seasons Doha Hotel from March 5-9.
The workshop hosts Arab region’s CERTS, security operation centres and private information security emergency centres.
The workshop aims to boost communication capabilities, team building and cyber threat response capabilities, aiming to maintain the ongoing efforts that Arab computer emergency response teams (CERTs) exert for combating cyber threats. It also works as a platform for co-operation and discussions on current challenges in cybersecurity domain among the participating countries.
