HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani endorsed the following Cabinet decisions yesterday:
1. Cabinet decisions No 7, No 8, No 9 and No 10 of 2017, expropriating certain real estate for the public benefit.
2.Cabinet decision No 11 of 2017 extending the leases of building premises and parts thereof that are used for non-residential purposes.
3. Cabinet decision No 12 of 2017 on the applicability of the provisions of Law No. (24) of 2002 on retirement and pensions for Qatari employees at Deco company.
The decisions shall be implemented and come into force as of 15/2/2017, and is to be published in the official gazette.
Instrument of ratification
HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani issued yesterday an instrument of ratification approving a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on the exchange of experiences and co-operation in legal and judicial affairs between the Ministry of Justice of Qatar and the Ministry of Justice and Law of Colombia, signed in Bogota on 27/7/2016.
Qatar-Chad ties reviewed
Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Integration and International Co-operation of Chad Hissein Brahim Taha met Qatar’s ambassador to Chad Hamad bin Abdulhadi al-Hajri in N’djamena yesterday.
During the meeting, they discussed bilateral relations and ways of enhancing them, in addition to matters of common interest.
Envoy meets French official
Secretary-General of the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs Christian Masset met Qatar’s ambassador to France Khalid bin Rashid al-Mansouri in Paris yesterday.
Talks during the meeting dealt with bilateral relations and means of enhancing them, in addition to a number of issues of common interest.
Real estate transactions
Real estate transactions in Qatar during the week ending February 6 were worth QR743.065932mn, official data showed yesterday. The weekly bulletin released by the real estate registration department at the Ministry of Justice said that the types of real estate traded ranged from plots of land, houses to villas and multi-purpose buildings. The majority of the trading took place in Umm Salal, Al Khor, Al Thukhaira, Doha, Al Rayyan, Al Da’ayen and Al Wakrah.
Doha peace accord promotes sport development in Darfur
Sudanese State Minister of Youth and Sports Dr Hussein Mohamed Hamdi yesterday stressed that the Doha Peace Agreement laid down basic structures for promoting sports in Darfur, which has witnessed an unprecedented development reflected in a new lifestyle in the region.
The Doha Peace Agreement presents a milestone which paved the way for a full recovery from the war and entering a new social peace phase, the Sudanese Minister told Qatar News Agency (QNA).
In this context, Dr Hamdi pointed out to the model villages established by Qatar in all Darfur’s federal states, which have allocated large areas for sports infrastructure and youth facilities offering promising opportunities for creativity of youth and sports.
The Doha Peace Agreement also led to the rehabilitation of sports stadia and sports institutions in Darfur, which currently host regional and internal events in a move aimed at developing sport in Sudan.
The Sudanese Ministry of Youth and Sports is preparing a national sports strategy, which not only takes advantage of the Doha Peace Agreement’s success but also Qatar’s regional and international expertise and experience in order to develop youth and sports sector in Sudan.
