Qatar Steel organised ‘fun-filled’ sport activities for its employees and their families at the MIC Sports Complex in Mesaieed in celebration of the National Sport Day (NSD).
The programme consisted of a number of competitions and tournaments in football, basketball, handball, volleyball, cricket, tennis, and short-distance running races.
Other fun competitions included tug-of-war and recreational games and activities for children like rope skipping, among others.
Qatar Steel managing director and general manager Ali bin Hassan al-Muraikhi said the celebrations contributed to promote a sport culture among the employees, encouraging them to do physical exercise on a regular basis.
“Undoubtedly, this would consequently improve their physical fitness, work performance, and mental agility, as a sound body lies in a sound mind,” he said while observing that the NSD helps create “a healthy and energetic environment for all.”
