Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) in collaboration with the Ministry of Education and Higher Education and Primary Health Care Corporation (PHCC) has launched the annual Tetanus, Diphtheria and Pertussis (TdaP) vaccination campaign for students of grade 10.

Held for the seventh year in a row, the campaign will run from February 19 to March 16. MoPH will be conducting a workshop today to launch the campaign. As many as 200 medical professionals from MoPH, PHCC, semi government medical facilities and the private sector are expected to attend.

The vaccine provides at least 10 years' protection from the three communicable diseases. The dose that will be administered to the students is considered a routine adolescence vaccination, covering all governmental, independent and private schools in Qatar. Tetanus, Diphtheria and Pertussis have dangerous complications and may lead to permanent disability or even death.
