Vodafone marked Qatar National Sport Day by engaging both its staff and hundreds of people across the country with various community activities.
Visitors to Qatar Foundation’s Al Shaqab indoor arena enjoyed the Vodafone digital sporting activities on feature. Supported by Vodafone’s “state-of-the-art” mobile network, the young and old had fun trying a bike simulator that replicates a real outdoor biking experience with options for group rides and races, the company said in a statement.
Playing football and basketball via virtual reality using Vodafone’s 4G network also proved to be a huge hit with the visitors, the statement added.
The Filipino community was also brought closer together on National Sport Day with the Vodafone-supported “Be fit with Kulinarya Qatar” health and fitness bazaar, which featured a variety of fitness activities, healthy food and an opportunity to get medical check-ups.
“HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani’s initiative to promote sports and fitness in Qatar is of huge public value and something Vodafone is very supportive of. So, we are proud to have engaged several community groups in this important day,” said Mohamed al-Sadah, chief operating officer, Vodafone.
