The Ministry of Transport and Communications (MoTC), in collaboration with United Development Company (UDC) — master developer of The Pearl-Qatar, is busy preparing for the upcoming Qatar National Sport Day.
This year, the ministry will hold its activities at Porto Arabia, The Pearl-Qatar. National Sport Day, an annual occasion held on the second Tuesday in February, plays a key role in maximising social participation across the country and boosting a culture of sport and healthy living. The MoTC has designed several activities for all participants — adults, children and families.
Its programme also includes entertainment and mind games, fitness and healthy lifestyle exercises, as well as challenges and competitions between families.
The entities celebrating National Sport Day with the MoTC and UDC are as follows: Civil Aviation Authority, Communications Regulatory Authority, Qatar Airways, Mowasalat (Karwa), Qatar Railways Company (Qatar Rail), Qatar Ports Management Company (Mwani), Qatar Satellite Company (Es’hailSat), Qatar Aeronautical College, Hamad International Airport, Hamad Port, General Retirement & Social Insurance Authority, Qatar Postal Services Company (Qatar Post), Qatar Assistive Technology Centre (Mada), malomatia and the Qatar National Broadband Network.
Marking the National Sport Day “is a positive step toward bolstering stronger employee bonds, who meet in one place as a family outside of the work environment”, a press statement noted.
