A temporary alternative access to Al Busayer Street from Al Rayyan Al Jadeed Street will be provided from tomorrow for a period of six months.
Ashghal said in a statement that road users travelling along Al Rayyan Al Jadeed Street towards the Olympic Roundabout (also known as Sports Roundabout), who usually turn left on to Al Busayer Street, would now be required to access Al Busayer Street using a newly constructed U-turn as (shown on the map).
The traffic signal on the junction of Al Rayyan Al Jadeed Street/Al Busayer Street will be removed to allow free-flowing traffic entry to, and access from, Al Busayer Street.
The traffic diversion is required to allow for completing works on the Al Rayyan Road Upgrade (Phase 1). Once completed, the project will deliver three major interchanges with two underpasses and three signalised at-grade junctions. It will establish strategic links between New Rayyan, Bani Hajer and central Doha.
