Vodafone has announced that its Bill Manager service has saved customers around QR5.05mn, primarily from international roaming usage, in just over four weeks.
A month after the launch of the “innovative product designed to ensure that Vodafone Red postpaid customers never receive a shocking bill again”, the company yesterday said Bill Manager was proving to be “hugely popular”.
“The response has exceeded all expectations and shaken up the telecommunications market in Qatar as one of the most innovative developments to benefit consumers in recent years. Bill Manager is a free-of-charge service that is automatically activated for Red customers. It gives them the benefits of the best local data or roaming products when they go out of bundle without having to activate those products in advance,” the
statement noted.
Mohamed al-Sadah, COO at Vodafone Qatar, said: “I’m proud to say that Bill Manager is one of many innovations and services created by our team and which are designed to put our customers in complete control of their spending.”
For postpaid customers who go out of their data bundle in Qatar, using Bill Manager “means they will only ever pay QR60 for 1GB of extra data”, Vodafone said, adding that the service also delivers benefits to customers who start roaming in one of the 78 countries included in the Vodafone Passport Pack.
To celebrate the success of Bill Manager, Vodafone has launched a social media promotion and invited residents in Qatar to share their “most shocking” telecoms bill received so far. Three winners will be drawn and receive a free-of-charge Vodafone Red VIP connection for 12 months, so customers can experience the Bill Manager service first hand and will “never receive a shockingly high bill again”, Vodafone added.
Participants should take a screenshot or photograph of their “horrific bill” from any operator in Qatar, post it on Twitter or Instagram with #ShareYourShock tagging and mentioning @Vodafoneqatar.
