Kylie Minogue yesterday thanked her fans for their “love and support” as she confirmed her split from her fiance.
The singer, 48, said she and British actor Joshua Sasse “wish only the best for each other” as they ended their 14-month relationship.
She met Sasse, 29, on the set of his US TV series Galavant in 2015 when she was making a guest appearance.
They announced their engagement in February last year and Minogue had frequently spoken publicly about her love for him.
She wrote on Instagram yesterday morning: “Thank you for all your love and support throughout this recent chapter of my life. Thank you now for your love and understanding with the news that Josh and I have decided to go our separate ways. We wish only the best for each other as we venture towards new horizons. #thesunalwaysrises.”
The Sun claimed she had broken off the engagement because she suspected Sasse of becoming close to another actress while filming the American TV drama No Tomorrow last year in Vancouver.
A source told the newspaper that the couple had a series of rows two weeks ago after Minogue visited Paris Fashion Week. The source claimed: “It was in Paris that Kylie became suspicious and returned to London to confront Joshua.
“She immediately asked him to leave her home, which he had moved into at the start of the relationship.”
Sasse is now said to be living in his family’s farmhouse in Leominster, Herefordshire.
Minogue recently revealed that she had planned to take her husband-to-be’s name when they married.
