South Korea’s Wang Jeunghun receives the winner’s trophy from Commercial Bank of Qatar CEO Joseph Abraham (right) and Qatar Golf Association president Hassan al-Nuami after his victory in the 20th Commercial Bank Qatar Masters yesterday. Wang held his nerve in a tense, three-way play-off to secure a hard-fought victory over South Africa’s Jaco Van Zyl and Sweden’s Joakim Lagergren after the trio had all finished at 16-under par to force the tie-breaker. “It feels really fantastic for me, it’s really, really great,” said a jubilant Wang after becoming the first player from an Asian country to win the event in its 20-year history.
