A Doha Criminal Court is reviewing the case of a Sudanese man accused of killing a female security guard at a private hospital.
Local Arabic daily Arrayah has reported that the defendant was accused of stabbing the woman to death with a sharp knife after a verbal dispute with her.
However, the lawyer of the defendant petitioned the court that his client was not accountable for the criminal act due to his psychiatric condition.
Accordingly, the court referred the man to a psychiatric medical committee to examine whether he was accountable or not for the crime.
In the meantime, the Public Prosecution charged the man with premeditated killing, as he had prepared a sharp knife and headed to the work place of the victim and stabbed her there.
