President Aoun praises Emir’s support to Lebanon
Lebanese President General Michel Aoun has praised HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani’s supportive stance towards Lebanon. In his opening speech at the Lebanese cabinet meeting yesterday, Aoun praised the hospitality he received during his latest visit to Qatar and described the outcome as “positive,” commending the ties between Qatar and Lebanon.
Senior UN official in Doha talks
HE the Secretary General of the Foreign Ministry, Dr Ahmed bin Hassan al-Hammadi, with Dmitry Titov, the United Nations assistant secretary general for the rule of law and security institutions, in Doha yesterday. The meeting reviewed aspects of co-operation in addition to issues of mutual interest.
Advisory Council panel discusses demographics
The Advisory Council’s Services and Public Facilities Committee, under the chairmanship of Saqr Fahd al-Muraikhi, met yesterday members of the Ministry of Development Planning and Statistics’ Permanent Population Committee.
The meeting held consultations on issues that might be co-ordinated between the Advisory Council and the Permanent Population Committee, particularly those related to state demographics.
The meeting will convene later for more consultations on the matter.
