A Doha Criminal Court has sentenced a young man to one year suspended jail sentence and a fine of QR10,000 for carrying an unlicensed firearm and a dagger.
The court also confiscated the weapons seized from the defendant.
Local Arabic daily Arrayah  reported that the youth was arrested following a complaint lodged by an eatery.
Quoting court documents, the daily said the defendant had ordered a meal to be delivered to a particular address but left the place before the delivery boy could reach there. “When he returned to the given address, he became angry as he could not find either the meal or the boy. He assumed the delivery man had ignored his order. He headed to the restaurant and grabbed the delivery boy and began threatening him with an unloaded pistol,” the daily said.
The restaurant worker was freed from the clutches of the man by his colleagues and they also forced him to leave the place.
The issue was reported to the police and when the man was arrested the weapons were found with him.
