HE the Minister of Municipality and Environment Mohamed bin Abdullah al-Rumaihi has conducted a field visit to some natural reserves in the country.
During the visit, he was briefed on the natural components of the reserves and the plants that have adapted to the local environment.
The tour by HE the Minister included the Al Reem reserve in the north of the country and Al Baroque in northwestern Qatar.
HE al-Rumaihi was accompanied by a number of officials from the Ministry of Municipality and Environment (MME).
Specialists from the MME gave HE the Minister an explanation on the status of the reserves and their needs, as well as the biodiversity found within them, among other related issues.
The need to take due action to provide the appropriate natural environment for animals in the reserves was stressed during the visit in order to guarantee their continuity and multiplication, which would, in turn, enhance Qatar’s wildlife.
Qatar has 11 natural reserves and protectorates.
