The Conference of the Organisation of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (Opec) has honoured HE the Minister of Energy and Industry Dr Mohamed bin Saleh al-Sada, the former president of the conference, marking the end of Qatar’s presidency of the organisation through 2016. This came during a ceremony held in Abu Dhabi, in recognition of the outstanding role played by Dr al-Sada during Qatar’s presidency of the conference of Opec, which resulted in the historic agreement reached by the member-states on reducing oil production. On the occasion, Saudi Minister of Energy, Industry and Mineral Resources Khalid al-Falih, the new president of the Conference of Opec,
presented a commemorative gift to HE Dr al-Sada. Al-Falih praised the efforts of HE al-Sada during his presidency of the organisation during a period marked by challenges.
