Mohammed Harat scored 30 points as Al Shamal registered a narrow 74-69 win over Al Ahli in the Qatar Basketball League yesterday.
At the Al Gharafa Sports Club, Harat was in top form as he his team’s attack posting highest points of the match with 15 rebounds and three assists. None of his throws were three pointers.
 He was well supported by teammate Johnson Tyrone Kevin, who contributed 25 points, including nine rebounds and five assists.
For Al Ahli, Branko Ereminov posted 23 points, while Seydou Ndoye Elhadj had 19 but that was not enough to save their team from suffering the defeat.  
Ahli were behind the game right from the beginning as Shamal jumped into an 11-point lead. But Ahli fought back reducing the deficit to two points at the end of first quarter. The close contest continued in the next two quarters, before Shamal pulled away in the closing stages of the fourth and last quarter to win by a five-point margin.
In another match, Al Arabi thrashed Al Khor 78-54. Adamu Saaka was in sizzling touch for the winners, scoring 35 points. For Al Khor, Rickey Demarkeo Young made 28 points.
In today matches, Qatar SC take on Al Wakrah at 5:15pm, while Al Sadd face Al Gharafa at 7: 15pm. Both matches will be played at Al Gharafa Indoor Hall.
