The Mahaseel Festival, taking place at the southern area of Katara – the Cultural Village, has become a popular destination for many Qatar residents and visitors.
A variety of offerings, ranging from locally grown vegetables and fruits to recreational and educational workshops and activities for all ages, are among the attractions.
Since day one, participating Qatari farms continue to receive a large number of shoppers who benefit from the affordable prices of vegetables, fruits, honey, and other agricultural products and ornamental plants.
In a statement, Katara noted that entertainment shows, art-and-craft activities, and games at the festival also enthralled families and children, providing them with an atmosphere of fun and happiness. Free meals and drinks are also given to visitors daily at the festival, which concludes its five day run today but will continue every weekend until the end of April.
One stall operator claimed that Qatar residents will get substantial health benefits from the local farms’ fresh produce compared to imported ones, which usually arrives in Qatar only after two or three days after harvesting.
“We have fresh vegetables and fruits planted in fertile soil and free of chemicals and fertilisers,” one farm employee said. The honey produced by Qatari farms and showcased at the festival is one of the finest in the world, claimed a farm owner and researcher, stressing its many health and therapeutic benefits.
