The 1.4km-long east-bound lane (towards Olympic Roundabout) of the Al Rayyan Bridge will be closed for six months from January 5, according to a statement from Ashghal.

However, the other half of the carriageway will be used to serve the two-way traffic (one lane in each direction) during the period.
During the closure, the road users from Dukhan going towards the Olympic Roundabout (also known as Sports Roundabout) can either use the designated eastbound lane on Al Rayyan bridge or follow the diversion signs towards Al Rayyan Roundabout where they will be able to take the second exit and continue their journey onwards (as shown on the map).
The traffic diversion is required to allow for the construction of a new flyover as part of Ashghal’s Al Rayyan Road Upgrade Project. Once completed, the flyover will connect the 22 February Street with Al Rayyan Road (west) and enable free-flowing traffic.
