All were spotted preparing food in unhealthy and unhygienic conditions. Similarly, another café was issued a violation as customers complained that the coffee machine contained insects, which was later confirmed by the inspectors. The café shop was told to keep the machine clean and to fight insects.
The Ministry of Municipality and Environment Agriculture Quarantine office inspected and checked 6,016 imported consignments of imported agriculture products in December 2016. These weighed around 65,893 tonnes. From these, 59 consignments of around 63 tonnes were destroyed for being infected with various bugs.
Meanwhile, 35 consignment ready to be exported abroad weighing around 36 tonnes were checked there as well. Al Khor and Al Zakhira Municipality implemented 3,015 requests and applications to fight rodents and insects last year. The Ministry of Municipality and Environment (MME) Environment Protection, Protectorates, and Wildlife Department spotted 845 environmental violations last year and issued 2,030 warnings for the violators.
