In an unusual trend during winter in Qatar, the maximum temperature is forecast to spike to 29C on Friday in Doha and at Mesaieed and Wakrah.
Thursday’s peak of 27C was recorded at Al Rayyan, Doha Airport and Batna, according to Qatar Meteorological Department.
There is a warning of poor visibility inshore over some areas at first on Friday.
Al Khor and Abu Samra are expected to see a maximum temperature of 27C, followed by Dukhan (26C) and Ruwais (25C).
The minimum temperature is forecast to be 16C (Abu Samra), followed by 17C at Mesaieed, Wakrah, Al Khor and Dukhan, 18C in Doha and 19C at Ruwais.
Thursday’s minimum temperature of 16C was recorded at Turayna and Al Khor.
The Qatar Met Department tweeted on Thursday morning that fresh to strong northwesterly winds are expected to start affecting Qatar by mid-next week causing high waves and a drop in temperatures.
At 7.13pm it tweeted that "high humidity is observed currently reaching 82% in Abu Samra with a chance of late night/early morning mist/fog over some areas."
