There will be a minor diversion for one year from Friday in a small section of the eastbound lanes on the Al Luqta Street in front of the Qatar National Convention Centre.

The diversion would be through an adjacent 540m road. The minor road change, which has been designed in co-ordination with the General Directorate of Traffic will be in operation until December next year.

During the duration of the diversion, road users travelling from Dukhan to Doha on Al Luqta Street will be shifted from the existing carriageway onto an almost parallel route before rejoining the existing road (as shown on the map).

Ashghal has advised there will be no change to the number of road lanes and the speed limit will remain at 50 kph.

The minor diversion is the final stage of a three-phase diversion that will be implemented on the Dukhan Highway East project in the area. The diversions are required to enable the construction of a pedestrian tunnel, future roads and the implementation of new utilities systems in the area.
