Doha Municipality director Jamal Mattar al-Nuaimi opened yesterday a new park each at Al Thumma and Duhail on the occasion of the Qatar National Day. Other senior officials were also present.
The new park at Al Shamal is to be opened today morning. The locations for the new parks were chosen considering the high population density in the respective areas.
Al Duhail Park, which falls within the jurisdiction of Doha Municipality, is located north of Duhail area on a space of 6,579sqm. The family park will be open during the week days from noon to midnight and on Fridays from 8am until midnight.
Al Thumama East Park, located within the city of Doha on a space of 4,689 sq m, is also allocated for families. Both the parks have many facilities and services such as water coolers, covered parking lots, toilets, kids play area, playgrounds for various games, and covered resting areas within the serenity of greenery.
Al Shammal Park is located within the jurisdiction of Al Shamal Municipality on a space of 11,930sq m. The parks have been established by the Public Gardens Department of the Ministry of Municipality and Environment.
