HE the Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohamed bin Abdulrahman al-Thani held a telephone conversation on Wednesday evening with the chairman of the high committee of the Syrian negotiations Dr Riyad Hijab.
They discussed the situation in Syria, particularly the worsening humanitarian situation in the city of Aleppo, in light of the latest escalation.
The Foreign Minister reiterated Qatar’s solidarity with the people of Aleppo as well as Qatar’s continued efforts to help alleviate their suffering, pushing for a ceasefire and ensuring the delivery of humanitarian aid.
Riyad Hijab expressed appreciation and gratitude for Qatar’s stance and continued efforts to support the Syrian people.

Al-Muraikhi 
meets UN special
envoy for Syria

HE the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Sultan bin Saad al-Muraikhi yesterday met United Nations Secretary General’s Deputy Special Envoy for Syria Ramzy Ezzeldin Ramzy in Doha.
During the meeting, they reviewed issues of common concern.

Qatar-Belarus
ties reviewed


HE the Speaker of the Advisory (Shura) Council Mohamed bin Mubarak al-Khulaifi yesterday met the Charge d’Affaires and First Counsellor at the embassy of Belarus to Qatar, Vitaly Mirutko.
Talks during the meeting dealt with bilateral parliamentary relations between the two countries and means of enhancing them as well as forming a friendship committee between the Advisory Council and the House of Representatives of Belarus.
The meeting was attended by the Secretary-General of the Advisory Council, HE Fahad bin Mubarak al-Khayareen.

Labour Minister 
attends Cairo meet

HE the Minister for Administrative Development, Labour and Social Affairs, Dr Issa Saad al-Jafali al-Nuaimi, is heading Qatar’s delegation to the 36th Session of the Council of Arab Social Affairs Ministers, which kicked off in Cairo yesterday.
Various problems related to poverty and development in the Arab countries will be discussed in addition to the draft five-year plan of the Council of Arab Social Affairs Ministers 2017-2021.

Qatar, ESCWA 
sign pact


Qatar and the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA) signed a memorandum of co-operation on the sidelines of the commission’s 29th ministerial session yesterday. Ambassador Tariq bin Ali al-Ansari, director of the Foreign Ministry’s Department of International Co-operation, and  ESCWA Deputy Executive Secretary Abdallah al-Dardari signed the memorandum. HE the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Sultan bin Saad al-Muraikhi was present during the signing along with ESCWA Executive Secretary Rima Khalaf.

Real estate
transactions

The total value of trading in real estate sales contracts registered with the Real Estate Registration Department at the Ministry of Justice from December 4 to 8 reached QR456,564,715.
The real estate registration department at the Ministry said in its weekly report, that the list of properties that were traded by sale includes open plots of lands, residential buildings, residential compounds and multi-use buildings which are located in the municipalities of Umm Salal, Al Khor, Al Thakhira, Doha, Al Rayyan, Al Daayen and Al Wakrah.
