Emirates has said it expects this week to be its busiest of 2016, as travellers head home or abroad for the holiday season.
“A total of 307,000 passengers are expected to pass through Emirates’ Concourses and Terminal 3 (in Dubai) between December 14 and 17, according to the latest booking figures. The busiest day for the airline is expected on Friday, December 16,” Emirates said in a statement.
To make the journey “as seamless and trouble-free as possible at the airport”, Emirates has said it is deploying extra staff to assist customers.
The airline has advised passengers to go through security checks no later than 60 minutes before their flight, as boarding on all flights begins 45 minutes prior to departure. Gates in all concourses close 20 minutes prior to departure. Check-in and gate closure timings will be strictly followed to ensure flights depart on schedule. These time checks will ensure minimal flight delays out of Dubai, the statement notes.
Along with checked in baggage, passengers have been advised to adhere to carry-on baggage weight limits, which are 7kg for Economy Class and 14kg for Business and First Class.
Customers have also been urged to check in online before departure.
