Poor visibility is expected in some places in the early hours today due to fog and there is also a “weak chance” of scattered rain, the Qatar Met department has said.
It may also rain in offshore areas by night, according to the weather report.
Southerly winds are likely in the country today, with the mercury level going back to their “normal average” levels for this time of the year, the Met department said in a tweet yesterday. The northerly winds, though, are expected to return by tomorrow night.
Yesterday, the mercury level dropped to 8C in Turayna and 9C in Karana early in the morning, while in Doha it was 17C. Today, a minimum temperature of 11C is expected in Mesaieed and Wakrah, followed by 12C in Abu Samra and Al Khor, 14C in Dukhan and 16C in Doha and Ruwais.
Offshore warnings, meanwhile, are expected to resume tomorrow night.
The detailed report for inshore areas today says hazy to misty/foggy conditions are expected in some places at first, bringing down visibility to 2km or less, followed by moderate temperature during the day. It will also be partly cloudy and there is a weak chance of scattered rain.
Offshore areas, on the other hand, are also expected to see hazy to misty conditions in some places in the early hours of the day. Partly cloudy conditions are also likely and there is a chance of scattered rain by night.
