Emir offers condolences to Turkish president
HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani yesterday held telephonic talk with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. During the phone call, the Emir offered condolences to the Turkish President on the victims of Saturday’s criminal bombing in the Besiktas district of Istanbul, praying to Allah the Almighty to bestow blessing upon the deceased and wishing the injured a speedy recovery. The Emir also reiterated Qatar’s support to Turkish government and people, and its backing to all measures taken to preserve the country’s security and stability.
HH the Deputy Emir Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad al-Thani sent a cable of condolences to the Turkish President on the bombing victims.
Meanwhile, Qatar has strongly condemned the bombings in Istanbul. The Foreign Ministry said that these criminal acts that aim at destabilising the security and stability and terrorising and killing innocent people, are contrary to all values, ethics and humanitarian principles and divine laws.
Explosions in Egypt, Somalia condemned
Qatar has condemned the explosion which targeted a Coptic cathedral in Egypt. The Foreign Ministry stressed, in a statement released yesterday, Qatar’s position that denounces violence and terrorism regardless of its motives. Qatar also condemned the explosion targeting a municipality building in the Somali capital Mogadishu. The ministry said Qatar condemns this criminal act which contradicts all human values and principles. It offered condolences to the families of the victims in the two countries.
