Under the patronage of HE the Prime Minister and Interior Minister, Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa al-Thani, Doha is hosting the “Global Forum for Traffic Safety and Sustainable Transport Systems”.
The two-day event, which begins tomorrow, is organised by Qatar University in collaboration with the National Traffic Safety Committee.
The international forum, organised by Qatar Centre for Transport and Traffic Safety, part of Faculty of Engineering at the University of Qatar, aims to support and promote the vision and goals of the 2013-2022 National Strategy for Traffic Safety in the State of Qatar.
The Forum brings together a number of senior national and international experts in sustainable transport systems to exchange international expertise and offer the best international practices in the sphere of transport system: “Planning, Design, Construction, Operations and Maintenance Levels.”
Participants will also discuss the implementation of the requirements of the UN Global Plan for the Decade of Action for Road Safety 2011-2020 and the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
