"Buses will ply from Masjid Mohamed bin Abdul Wahab, Khalifa Tennis and Squash Complex, Arumeila Roundabout and Sheraton Doha Hotel," Lt Col Mohamed Radhi al-Hajiri, director of Traffic Awareness and Media Department at the Ministry of Interior (MoI) explained at a press conference.
Ft Lt Ahmed Thani al-Musaifri of Lekhwaiya sought the wholehearted co-operation of the residents and advised them to reach the parade venue as early as possible.
Lt Col al-Hajiri said the residents are required to obey the country's rules and facilitate smooth conduct of the celebrations along Corniche. The residents are also told to respect the privacy of everyone during the celebrations.
The MoI official urged the people to avoid security violations such as standing up through the windows and sunroofs of vehicles, using masks, spraying foam on vehicles, placing flags to hide number plates and even changing the shape of vehicles.
Ft Lt al-Musaifri also informed that the people could access the 999 helpline anytime. There is a system to identify the caller's location through numbers given on lamp posts across Doha Corniche and its surroundings.
Any person seeking the ministry's help or those whose children who are lost during the celebrations could call 999 mentioning the number of the nearest lamp post.
Traffic patrols would be available on all streets and signals on Corniche and surroundings. Corniche would be open in the evening to watch fireworks.
