Hamas movement’s politburo chief, Khalid Mishal, has hailed Qatar’s official and popular efforts to reconstruct Gaza Strip and constantly support the Palestinian people.
Speaking yesterday during a solidarity event with the Palestinian people at Qatar University’s College of Shariah and Islamic Studies, Meshal said the Qatari leadership is role model for solidarity with the Palestinian people, calling on the nation and its young people to be inspired by that spirit in order for the Palestinian issue to remain alive as the nation’s core issue.
Meshal said the symbolic event isn’t just a reminder of the Palestinian issue but also an embodiment of the spirit and will that aim to keep the issue alive and encourage the resilience of the Palestinian people financially and mentally.

Qatar attends Arab League committee meeting
The 5th joint meeting of the Arab League permanent delegates and the Political and Security Committee of the EU Council began yesterday at the headquarters of the General Secretariat of the Arab League.
Qatar is participating in the meeting with a delegation headed by Qatar’s ambassador to Egypt and its Permanent Delegate to the Arab League Saif bin Muqaddam al-Bueinain.
Permanent Representative of Tunisia ambassador Najib Najib Mnif is presiding over the Arab side while presiding over the European side is Chairman of the Political and Security Committee of the EU Council Ambassador Walter Stevens and Deputy Secretary-General for Political Affairs at the European External Action Service Jean-Christophe.

QRCS-QFD launch relief efforts in Haiti
The relief delegation sent by Qatar Red Crescent Society (QRCS) is working to help the victims of Hurricane Matthew in Haiti. The distribution of humanitarian aid has already begun in the worst-hit regions, with $500,000 funding from Qatar Fund for Development (QFD). The aid covers water and sanitation, healthcare, and non-food items. The distributions include 10,000 mosquito nets, 10,000 tarpaulins, 2,000 kitchenware sets, and 750 hygiene kits.
