Qatar International Beauty Academy (Tajmeel), a Nama institution, recently held its fifth graduation ceremony at the Hamad Bin Khalifa University Student Centre.
The event showcased students’ talent, celebrated the academy’s industry partnerships in Qatar and highlighted its achievements throughout the past academic year, according to a press statement.
The students’ graduation is set to kick-start their careers in beauty and cosmetics and arm them with internationally recognised certification that open up professional development as well as recruitment opportunities for the young women who are looking to “enrich their life experiences, achieve independence and effectively contribute to Qatar’s economic development”, the statement notes.
Mariam bint Abdullatif al-Mannai, director of the community services department and director in charge of running Nama’s affairs, said: “The hard work and dedication that our students at Tajmeel have demonstrated throughout the year(s) has paid off. Through our fifth graduation ceremony, we are not only recognising our young ladies’ efforts and cheering for their pursuit of excellence, but also crowning their successful journey at Tajmeel with a graduation certificate that can carry them forward, as they start the first or next chapter in their professional lives.”
During the ceremony, the academy’s students were handed their graduation certificates while its community partners were awarded with appreciation certificates. The event also featured a fashion show where students collaborated on creating hair and makeup designs on models, as well as a live hairstyling demonstration by one of Doha’s prominent hairstylists.
Tajmeel, Qatar’s first vocational training centre to offer internationally recognised hair and beauty therapy qualifications, aims to transfer knowledge, expertise and professionalism to the local community and established employees of the industry by providing them with quality education opportunities in spa, hair, beauty and its associated fields.
The courses on offer at Tajmeel range from those lasting several months to those spanning a full academic year with several intakes annually. The academy also offers short courses and workshops aimed at skills development for personal grooming or non-vocational training. Professionals who wish to enhance their qualifications with postgraduate training have several additional course options.
