HH the Emir  Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani and President Abdelaziz Bouteflika of Algeria discussed relations between Qatar and Algeria and means to develop them further, particularly in the fields of economy, investment and energy.
The meeting, which was held at the Presidential Palace in the Algerian capital yesterday evening, also dealt with a number of regional and international issues, particularly the situation in Libya, where the two sides agreed on the importance of supporting the Presidential Council of the Government of National Reconciliation in its quest to achieve security and stability in Libya.
The meeting was attended by the members of the delegation accompanying HH the Emir.
On the Algerian side, it was attended by Prime Minister Abdelmalek Sellal, President of the People’s National Assembly Mohamed-Larbi Ould Khelifa, and a number of ministers.  
Earlier on arrival in Algiers the Emir and the accompanying delegation were welcomed at Houari Boumediene International Airport by the President of the People’s National Assembly of Algeria Mohamed-Larbi Ould Khelifa, Minister of State and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Co-operation Ramtane Lamamra, as well as Qatar’s ambassador to Algeria Ibrahim bin Abdulaziz al-Sahlawi, and members of the Qatari embassy. The Emir was accorded an official welcoming ceremony.
HH the Emir left Algeria later yesterday evening. He was accorded an official farewell ceremony.
