The Qatar National Day Celebrations Associated Activities Organising Committee, in association with the Ministry of Interior (MoI), will organise the Sports Championship at Al Wakrah Sports Club, Doha Industrial Area and Rayyan Sports Club for teams representing communities, schools and companies in Qatar.
The championship will be held from 8.30am to 5pm on December 18, the MoI has announced in a press statement.
The event will feature football (seven players), volleyball (12), basketball (15), tug of war (10 members) and races.
The winners and runners-up in the football, volleyball and basketball competitions will be awarded QR1,500 and QR1,000, respectively. Winners and runners-up in tug of war will get QR1,000 and QR500, while those in the running race will be awarded a cash prize of QR500 and QR250, respectively.
Football, tug of war and race will be held at all three locations, while the basketball and volleyball competitions will take place at Rayyan Sports Club only, the statement added.
To register send an e-mail – with information such as the team’s name, competition in which it is participating and mobile/e-mail details of the team leader – to [email protected] before December 5.
Teams seeking registration after this date will not be entertained, the statement said.
