Emirates Aviation University has opened its ‘3rd International Aviation Management Conference’ (IAMC) yesterday under the patronage of Emirates Airline and Group chairman and chief executive Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed al-Maktoum.
The two-day conference brought together industry leaders, researchers, and aviation management professionals to tackle the challenges and opportunities currently facing the aviation industry under the theme ‘Lessons Learned, Current Challenges, and the Road Ahead’.
IAMC provides an ideal platform for aviation influencers to tackle the industry’s hot topics and share case studies and best practices. It’s also an opportunity for aviation management researchers, academics, and authors from all around the world to showcase their papers and present their studies in a dynamic environment. 
The conference addresses the steady growth in the various sectors of aviation and emphasises the need for more research on key issues that impact the industry as a whole.
Keynote speakers included Mohamed Ahli, director-general, Dubai Civil Aviation Authority (DCAA); Gary Chapman, president of Emirates Group Services and dnata; Laila bin Hareb, assistant director-general, Strategy and International Affairs – UAE General Civil Aviation Authority; and Michael Herrero, area manager, IATA.
The IAMC 2016 is hosted by EAU with DCAA as principal partner. The conference is also supported by General Civil Aviation Authority, Dubai Police and Coventry University and sponsored by Dubai Duty Free.
